◎III.Qinglong Monkey Rod Dance
Monkey Rod Dance is a kind of folk dance with unique artistic performance style of Qinglong Manchu.It can be classified into stage performance,Yangko street performance and square art performance.The performers combine their unique dance style, rod skills and suona accompaniment with diあerent performance forms.As a wonderful type of Manchu folk art, Monkey Rod Dance has a history of more than 300 years.It is said that during Emperor Kangxi's reign, the Manchu Zhenglan Banner settled down here and made a living by hunting.To keep human safety, people dressed up as“naughty monkeys” in fairy tales, holding double rods, jumping, shouting and striking rods at night and festivals, in order to subdue demons and expel evil spirits, and protect the people's peace in four seasons.Hence the name of Monkey Rod Dance was obtained.The traditional dance “Monkey Rod Dance” in Qinglong Manchu Autonomous County was included in the First List of Hebei Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritages.
