◎V.Jiao Mountain

The Jiao Mountain Great Wall Scenic Spot is located 3km from the north of Shanhaiguan City.Its main peak is 519m above sea level, and belongs to the extension of Yan Mountains.It is a world heritage site, major historical and cultural site protected at the national level, national forest park,and national geopark.It is known as “the First Mountain of the Great Wall”because it is the first peak that the Great Wall crosses.

The geological landscape in the Jiao Mountain Great Wall Scenic Spot is an integral part of Liujiang National Geopark in Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province.The main rocks of the mountain are volcanic eruptive rocks and granite formed by the movement of Yan Mountians.With rolling mountains,the Jiao Mountain is a natural barrier of Shanhaiguan and a place for gathering talents.Qixian Temple was built as early as in the early Ming Dynasty,nurturing many celebrities and sages.
