(1) Beidaihe Yang's Ham Sausage
Yang Tingzhen, the founder of Yang's Ham Sausage, began to learn the technique of making German meat products in a restaurant opened by a German named Massaz in Ji'nan, Shandong Province at the age of 19, and was employed as a ham sausage master at Tianjin Shawei Restaurant at the age of 29.Yang Tingzhen and his family moved to Beidaihe and opened “Shengli Ham Sausage Shop” in 1941.Yang's Ham Sausage products became a musthave delicacy as well as a tourism commodity for both Chinese and foreigners.After the public-private joint venture in 1956, Yang Tingzhen was employed as the master of the meat processing factory of Beidaihe Summer Vacation Supply Station.After Yang Tingzhen retired, his son Yang Dehou inherited his father's career.After decades of research and improvement,on the basis of maintaining the traditional technology, Yang Dehou created scientific formula and technological process, developing products with good color, fragrance, taste and shape, which are warmly welcomed by the public and good gifts to relatives and friends.
(2) Shanhaiguan Hui Pastry
Hui Changzhong, a veteran craftsman of Hui ethnic group, started his own business “Muslim Hui Pastry” in 1945 and initially sold his hand-made Hui pastries at the archway and drum tower of old Guancheng.Famous in Qinhuangdao City, these pastries are made by adhering to the traditional food culture, selecting quality materials, using conservative and complicated workmanship.The patrimonial guidance of “conscience” was followed all his life, and his products were highly praised by the people of the ancient city.They are famous tourism pastry food in Qinhuangdao now.
(3) Shanhaiguan Qinghe Mixed Pot
Qinghe Mixed Pot Restaurant has lasted for a hundred years.It has completely changed the traditional way of hot pots.It does not boil vegetables, beef or mutton, but delicious mixture of pickled vegetables, fatty meat and seafood.Therefore, it was given a worthy name of Mixed Pot.As a municipal intangible cultural heritage, Mixed Pot has become the representative food of Shanhaiguan.
Mixed Pot is a kind of assorted hot pot.Hot pot was brought into Shanhaiguan with the Qing army's entry.Qinghe Mixed Pot inherits the characteristics of Shanhaiguan hot pot.For Qinghe Mixed Pot, a traditional copper pot is used and old chicken soup which is made with the secret recipe handed down from ancestors, special pickled cabbage, selected streaky pork, meatballs,frozen bean curd, shrimps, dried shrimps, crab meat, oysters, silver fish, baby cuttlefish, mantis shrimps and river crabs as the main ingredients are put into the pot and stewed with carbon fire.Qinghe Mixed Pot is very characteristic and won the honor of “Qinhuangdao Intangible Cultural Heritage.”
(4) Shanhaiguan Sitiao Steamed Bun
Sitiao Steamed Bun is a time-honored and traditional catering brand of Shanhaiguan, a famous historical and cultural city.It was founded before the founding of the People's Republic of China.As the commercial system of Shanhaiguan District was a pilot of the state-owned enterprise reform in Hebei Province in 1998, Sitiao Steamed Bun was transformed into a private limited liability company and became the only time-honored restaurant with continuous operation in the ancient Shanhaiguan City.After several generations of persistence and efforts, Sitiao Steamed Bun has long been wellknown in Shanhaiguan and East Hebei and West Liaoning.Especially since the reform and opening-up, it has been loved by Chinese and foreign tourists.There has been a pet phrase popular in Shanhaiguan for nearly half a century that “one who fails to eat Sitiao Steamed Bun cannot say he has been to Shanhaiguan.”
(5) Zushan Liquor Industry
Qinhuangdao Zushan Liquor Co., Ltd., located at Gangou Village,Gangou Township, Qinglong Manchu Autonomous County, is a Chinese Baijiu enterprise built on the site of Tongsheng Royal Distillery.As the first one of “small trades,” the Chinese Baijiu of Gangou is of exquisite craftsmanship and long-lasting fragrance.It has been inherited from the Qing Dynasty.Qinhuangdao Zushan Liquor Co., Ltd has been rated as Hebei Provincial Famous Trademark, and its products Hebei Provincial High-quality Product.
