论文与期刊范畴的契合度

我们认为，在选择目标期刊时，论文内容与期刊的范畴及其受众群体（audiences）的契合度，可能比选择期刊的影响因子更加重要。每个期刊所涵盖的范畴或侧重点都有所差异（即使是同一学科），投稿指南中的第一部分多会介绍期刊的目的和涵盖范畴。以IntJ Nurs Stud为例（示例7-1），该期刊的概述中，介绍了期刊的目的、所接受论文的类型、论文可以覆盖的内容以及读者群体。所以，如果你的论文内容上与该期刊范畴不契合，那么不建议投稿。

随着临床医学亚专业的细化，与多个亚学科相应的期刊也应运而生，这也是投稿时需要考虑的一点。例如，如果你的论文是与糖尿病临床治疗或护理相关的，那么就不适合投稿于仅接收基础论文的期刊。当然，如果你的研究是交叉学科研究，则可以同时从两个或多个领域中选择目标期刊（例如，你的研究调查了糖尿病患者中血糖与骨质疏松的关系）。此外，所选择期刊也可以是综合性期刊。此类期刊受众面很广，所接收论文不仅限于某种疾病或某个健康问题。例如，JAMA就是这样一个综合性期刊，接收所有医学相关论文。根据我们的经验，如果你所在的领域中已经有多个可以选择的专业期刊，则尽量先从这些期刊中选择投稿。如果没有合适的，再考虑综合性期刊。

此外，有些期刊不接受综述类论文，或者仅采用“约稿”的形式，或者需要作者在投稿前咨询主编是否对其所要投的综述感兴趣。在选择期刊时，要尤其注意这一点：可以通过阅读投稿指南获取此信息。
