◎The Panjiayu Massacre Memorial Hall

Located 30 kilometers to the northeast of Fengrun District, Tangshan City, the Panjiayu Massacre Memorial Hall is a classic national red tourism scenic spot as well as a national patriotism education demonstration base. During the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Panjiayu was the seat of Eastern Hebei and Fengluan Anti-Japanese Aggression Coalition Government. On January 25, 1941, the Japanese invaders carried out a crazy and barbaric massacre in Panjiayu, causing a tragedy that shocked China and foreign countries. Up to now, six tragedy sites and 10 anti-Japanese aggression sites have been preserved. In 1994, the Panjiayu Massacre Site was established as the patriotic education base of Hebei Province by the Hebei Provincial Government which also invested in the reconstruction of the Panjiayu Massacre Memorial Hall.(https://www.daowen.com)

There are eight first-class cultural relics, three second-class cultural relics, and 14 third-class cultural relics in the Memorial Hall. Today, Panjiayu, nestling in green mountains covered with lush cypresses, is full of grapevines everywhere. It is reputed as “Turpan at the foot of the Yanshan Mountain.”
