◎Nanhu Central Ecological Park

Nanhu Central Ecological Park was originally a subsidence area formed by coal mining in Kailuan Coal Mine in the past 140 years. After years of ecological transformation, a lake of 11.5 square kilometers and 133 landscapes of various kinds have been formed. Its core area is 5.4 square kilometers. According to the terrain's characteristics, an overall layout pattern of dancing phoenix has been formed with one axis and eight gardens, with the two waters in the east and west as the core. “One axis” refers to the main landscape axis running from north to south. On both sides of the main landscape axis, eight specialty gardens such as the designer garden, the international garden, the domestic garden and the international sculpture garden are arranged. There is an experience area, which meets both ecological and tourism needs. A “two-horizontal and three-vertical” traffic network has been planned. The experience area consists of four functional zones: Wetland experiencing, agricultural sightseeing, resting in forest and exercising in green space. All the facilities in the scenic spot are planned according to the standards for national 5A-level scenic spot. The venues and exhibition gardens are multi-functional and permanent buildings, which can serve the city in a sustainable way. Since April 15, 2018, with the approval of the municipal CPC committee and the municipal government, the scenic area has been open to all tourists free of charge. This has availed an opportunity for the scenic spot to develop by leaps and bounds.
