◎Panjiakou Reservoir

Panjiakou Reservoir is located in the north of Qianxi County, which is 30 kilometers away from the county seat. The construction of the tourist area on the reservoir is carried under the Panjiakou Reservoir Water Conservancy Project. Panjiakou Reservoir is a key water conservancy project in China, with a total storage capacity of 2.93 billion cubic meters and a backwater surface of 78 kilometers. From the dam to the Liuhe River Pass in Chengde, it is possible for boats to travel for 75 kilometers. It is a national key water conservancy scenic spot. Its landscape features both the majesty of the north and the beauty of the south. With more than 100 natural and cultural landscapes in the vicinity, the reservoir is dubbed “Miles of Gallery.” It not only provides headwater for the project to transfer water from the Luanhe River to Tianjin, but also is known for an underwater section of the Great Wall.
