◎Chromoxylography
Villagers in Changzhangce,Handan make their own paper lanterns in winter for the celebration of the Spring Festival. The lantern consists of a handle made of baked and bent wicker,a hexagonal ring at its top opening made of the uppermost section of sorghum stalks,a body made of sorghum stalk ribbings pasted with paper, and a board at its bottom to hold candles. The paper used for its decoration is processed with Chromoxylography, for which villagers there carved woodblocks themselves. Similar to Xylograph of Yangliuqing and Zaoqiang, these prints are of concise images, bold strokes and contrasting colors, with flowers as the theme, paired with figures and words expressing good wishes.(https://www.daowen.com)
