◎II.Wang Jinmei Spread the Revolutionary Seeds at Shanqiao Bridge

Wang Jinmei was one of the founders of the CPC.In 1919, he participated in the patriotic May 4th Movement and was elected as one of the leaders of the Shandong Student Union.Wang Jinmei initiated the establishment of the early organization of the CPC in Jinan in the spring of 1921 and went to Shanghai to attend the First National Congress of the CPC in July of the same year.Later, he served as Secretary of the Shandong Branch of the CPC and Director of the Shandong Branch of the Secretariat of the China Labor Union. He successively led the strikes and struggles of workers in Shanhaiguan, Qinhuangdao and other places. Also he led the establishment of the Party organization in Shanhaiguan in November 1922.

In the 1920s, these places became more developed and prosperous areas in the railway, port, coal, glass, food and other industries with relatively dense industrial workers in northern China. After the birth of the CPC, this area quickly became one of the more active areas of China's early labor movements.

In 1922, Wang Jinmei, Deputy Director of the Northern Branch of the Secretariat of the China Labor Union, was sent to Shanhaiguan to organize and lead the strikes of Beijing-Fengtian Railway workers centered on Shanhaiguan Railway Factory.Shanhaiguan Club of Beijing-Fengtian Railway workers was established at Qingfuli, Shanhaiguan on August 15, 1922, followed by the establishment of the Party Group of Shanhaiguan Railway Factory, the first grass-roots CPC organization. At the end of August, Wang Jinmei went to Qinhuangdao again to promote the establishment of Qinhuangdao Workers' Club of Kailuan Mining Bureau. As a result, railway workers of Shanhaiguan and wharf workers of Qinhuangdao Port had their own organizations of the CPC.At that time, Wang Jinmei organized the railway and wharf workers of the two clubs to attend night school, learn knowledge and carry out some literary and artistic activities, making the workers' clubs a front for spreading revolutionary culture and ideas.

On the basis of running the workers' clubs, Wang Jinmei initiated and led the workers of Shanhaiguan Railway Factory to go on strike on October 4, 1922, which triggered the Beijing-Fengtian Railway strike with a great impact on whole China.
