◎I.“The paradise is created by nature, and people living in Penglai are like immortals”

“The paradise is created by nature, and people living in Penglai are like immortals.” This is Kang Youwei's evaluation of the environment and scenery in his poem titled An Inscription about Lotus Stone when he visited Beidaihe, Qinhuangdao in 1923.As an internationally famous tourist city,Qinhuangdao is attracting a large number of tourists to come for leisure and vacation. In recent years, Qinhuangdao City has adhered to the development strategy of building the city by ecology, taking building an ecological model city among the urban agglomeration of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei as its main goal of development. It has improved the quality of the ecological environment by implementing the action of “blue sky, clear water and clean land,”and actively carried out eco-tourism.

As one of the first batch of Gulf Chief System pilot cities in China, Qinhuangdao has actively strengthened the protection of its marine ecological environment and delimited its ecological red line and development boundary. The qualification rate of Class-I water quality of bathing beaches has reached 98.6%, and the water quality has been fundamentally improved. In order to better promote the construction of national forest city, Qinhuangdao has actively promoted aあorestation.Over the past three years, a total of 1.522 million mu of aあorestation area has been completed, and the forest coverage rate has reached 54%, realizing the beautiful urban style of “forest in the city, and city in the forest.”

In the future, Qinhuangdao will actively explore exchanges and cooperation with Beijing and Tianjin to develop its characteristic tourism industry and life & health industry. While improving the quality of the ecological environment, Qinhuangdao will use the whole-region tourism to drive the development of characteristic towns, the characteristic towns to drive the development of beautiful villages, and the beautiful villages to allow farmers to get better-oあ, so as to make the green economy the brightest name card for urban development.
