The Desert King

In ancient times，the Desert King once established a desert state in Luchuan（the old name of Wase in Dali）on the east side of Erhai Lake，with its capital in Mengzhou（The Desert Temple in Wase）.After the capital was built，the King moved the mountaineers who lived on the mountain into the town and taught them to grow grain and peaches and plums so that they could live a good life with food and clothing.After founding the country，the King held fast to military exercises and soon conquered the tribes in Jizu Mountain of Binchuan County，expanding the territory of the desert country.After he died，the people of Luchuan and Jizu Mountain named him the Desert King and worshipped him as the Village God of Luchuan and Jizu Mountain to show their thanks.
