Historic architecture of different regions has unique construction methods due to the different geographical characteristics and cultural backgrounds.Their means of maintaining are also wide ranging.China’s wood-framed historic architecture has its own characteristics different from that of Western architecture.The craftsmen have accumulated a wealth of conservation concepts and technologies suitable for oriental architectural features over time.With the introduction of international heritage conservation policy, Chinese government developed its own conservation principle which adapted to international policy with regards to traditional Chinese conservation experiences, and formed unique concepts on authenticity and integrity, as well as the different conservation methods.The purpose of this chapter is to introduce the development of Chinese architectural heritage conservation policy and analyze unique conservation concepts according to architectural heritage characteristics, as well as the specific policy development of China’s historic personalities’ residences and highlight the problems they faced.(https://www.daowen.com)
