1.How单独用作疑问词
（1）问身体健康等情况。例如：
How is your mother？ 你母亲身体好吗？
（2）问天气状况。例如：
How is the weather today？ 今天天气怎么样？
（3）询问动作执行的方式、手段等，译为“怎样”。例如：
―How do you usually go to school？你通常怎样去上学。
―On foot.步行。
How can I carry the box upstairs？ 我怎样才能把这箱子搬到楼上呢？
（4）询问程度。例如：
How do you like this book？ 你觉得这本书怎么样？
I like it very much.非常喜欢。
（5）how用在第一次见面的问候语中。例如：
―How do you do？ 你好！
―How do you do？ 你好！
2.how与其他形容词或副词搭配使用
（1）how about用于询问或征询意见等，相当于what about，后接名词、代词或动词的-ing形式，译为“……怎么样”“……好不好”。例如：
I like playing football.How about you？ 我喜欢踢足球。你呢？
How about going shopping with me？ 和我一起去购物怎么样？
（2）how many用于询问人或物品的数量，后接可数名词的复数形式，译为“多少”。例如：
―How many students are there in your class？ 你们班有多少名学生？
―There are sixty-five.六十五名。
（3）how much 既可询问物品数量，后接不可数名词，译为“多少”；又可询问物品价格，译为“多少钱”。例如：
―How much is the cup？ 这个杯子多少钱？
―$15.15美元。
―How much meat do you have？ 你有多少肉？

（4）how old 询问年龄，译为“多大”。例如：
―How old are you？ 你多大了？
―I’m twelve.我十二岁。
（5）how far 用于询问距离，译为“多远”。例如：
―How far is it from here to the station？ 从这里到车站有多远？
―About three hundred meters.大约三百米。
（6）how long 既可询问时间，译为“多久”，又可询问物品的长度，译为“多长”。例如：
―How long does it take you to go home by car？ 你开车回家要多久？
―It takes me about 30 minutes.大约30分钟。
―How long is the bridge？ 这座桥有多长呢？
―It’s 2 kilometers.它有两千米。
★进阶层
① How often“多久一次”，询问做事的频率。例如：
―How often do you visit your mother？ 你多长时间看你妈妈一次？
―Once a week.一周一次。
② How soon“多久以后”，主要用来对表示将来的一段时间提问。例如：
―How soon will he be back？ 他要多久才回来？
―In an hour.一小时以后。
③ How tall“多高”，询问某人/物的高度。例如：
―How tall is the tree？ 那棵树多高？
―More than 5 metres.5米多。
④ How heavy“多重”，询问某人/物的重量。例如：
―How heavy is the fish？ 这条鱼多重？
―It’s 5 kilos.5公斤。
