Weather changes[2]
What’s the weather like in different cities around China? What’s the weather like in your city? Today we’ll travel to some cities that have their own special weather.
A hot city
Turpan（吐鲁番）is a city in Xinjiang.It is very hot in summer.In Turpan，the sun shines for a long time every day，and there is little rain.It is like a desert（沙漠）.The highest temperature in summer can be 49.6 °C.It’s burning hot.You can even boil（煮）an egg on the ground.
A dry city
Lhasa is the driest city in China.The city is at a high altitude（海拔）.It’s sunny most of the time.The sun is so strong that the rain in summer does not last long.If you travel to Lhasa，you might feel quite dry.You need to drink a lot of water because you will often feel thirsty.
A cold city
The coldest city in China is Genhe in Inner Mongolia.It is freezing in winter.The coldest temperature on record is -58 °C.The water vapor（蒸汽）you breathe out turns to ice at once.It is dangerous to stay outside for a long time.You have to wear very thick（厚的）clothes to keep warm.

Ya’an is a city in Sichuan.It rains nearly 300 days a year.And it’s always very warm.The abundant（丰沛的）rain not only brings fresh air，but also makes the city beautiful，as the rain helps green plants grow.It is a comfortable place to live.
City with big temperature difference
Urumqi’s weather changes quickly.It’s cold in the morning, but it’s hot at noon.So people in Urumqi might wear a sweater when they get up, but change into a shirt when they have lunch.It’s very interesting.You can experience four seasons within one day.
