During the past 70 years, Tibet has changed a lot.People there live better lives.Quzhen and her family live in Lhasa.Her 72-year-old grandma lives with them.
Quzhen said her grandma is kind and hardworking.“When my grandma was a child，her family was poor and lived in a cottage（茅草屋）in countryside.The whole family lived by farming.Sometimes she had to help with farm work.They couldn’t have three meals a day.So my grandma always tells me not to waste things，especially food，”she said.
Remembering the past，Quzhen’s grandma always says life is much easier these days.“My grandma has her own mobile phone.She didn’t go to school，she can’t type（打字），but she likes to post photos on her WeChat Moments（微信朋友圈）.”
Quzhen likes going to school.Her favorite class is Chinese.She speaks Chinese at school and speaks Tibetan with her families at home.Her dad works in a water company.Quzhen said he is her role model（榜样）.Tibet’s waterworks（供水系统）have developed quickly over the last five years.
“A big part of my dad’s job is to keep Tibet’s water safe.My dad and his coworkers work hard.Their work helps farmers and herdsmen.People in Tibet have more clean water to live and farm the land, ” Quzhen said.
She is waiting for the Shoton（雪顿节）in August，her favorite holiday.It is a big holiday for every family in Tibet.Family members get together for a picnic at Norbulinka Park.People sing and dance on the grass.They also eat yogurt to celebrate.
