Introduction

According to the sixth national census in 2010, the total population ofthe Buyi is about 2.87 million. The Buyi mostly live in Southern Guizhou Province, as well as in Yunnan and Sichuan Provinces. The Buyi people are mainly engaged in agriculture, and their ancestors started to grow rice at a very early time, enjoying the name of“Rice-growing People”.
