4.Conclusions

Rammed earth can be considered boon in the building sector,in terms of structural stability and environmental sustainability. In context to Nepal, the rammedearth houses were used for of fice, residence, hospital, and school in the form of load-bearing and non-load bearing structure. The majority of cement stabilized rammed earth houses were in good condition and were able to resist the effects of weathering agents.Inspite of minimum utilization of energy and resources like water and stabilizer(cement)during the construction, the overall obtained results(strength, durability, versatility)are good, and it contributes towards decrement in CO2 by building sector.Comparatively 5%cement stabilized samples had better results than unstabilized samples.Inspite of such good characteristics,it is still not widely accepted by most people, and is considered as an old material which has no existence in this modern world. So,necessary awareness regarding building impacts on the environment and importance of earth construction as an alternative sustainable construction material should be promoted to develop positive attitudes among local people towards earth construction.
