Situation 1:Communicate with the inspector

Capt.Li:Mr.Brown,I am Chief Training Officer. It’s me who are going to brief you on the training of this unit.

Mr.Brown:Chinese Transport Troops are world-renown for its professionalism.Let’s have a look at what you have done.

Capt.Li:Sir,CHINTPT COY has been in six-month intensive training after its establishment. It is divided into four parts. The fundamental training includes basic driving,communication,first-aid,weapon operation, and field survival.

Mr.Brown:I hope it does not take up too much time because every soldier is supposed to do well in these aspects.

Capt.Li:Correct! The CPTM accounts for nearly half of the time in this part.

Mr.Brown:You mean only officers or each soldier?

Capt.Li:It covers everyone. After that it is the advanced training.

Mr.Brown:What do you mean by“advanced”?

Capt.Li:“Advanced”refers to the training scenario setup.Driving, security protection,self-defense,quick crisis reaction, rules of engagement, etc, are all based on real peacekeeping mission scenarios.

Mr.Brown:Interesting!Anything else?

Capt.Li:In addition, there is particular training for operators of forklift, recovery truck, maritime satellite phone, and medical machine.

Mr.Brown:It is obvious that the English textbook is written by a peacekeeping officer who is very familiar with missions.

Capt.Li:Instructors are mainly selected from former MOs and SOs,international or domestic.

Mr.Brown:Don’t forget the Best Practices Publications from UN HQ website. They are very useful.
