66.四条“海岸线”。coast，beach，shore，seaside
（1）coast：海岸。指海与陆地相接近，是地理上的用语，仅指沿海之岸，不能用来指河岸或湖岸。如：
Ships did not often come to the northern coast.
过去船只不常来到北部的海岸。
（2）beach：海滩；湖滨。指倾斜度小，被海、湖或河水冲刷而有沙或卵石积存的地方。如：
We collected these pretty stones and shells on the beach.
我们在海滩上拣了这些好看的石子和贝壳。
（3）shore：海滨；沿海国家（或地区）。指紧靠大湖泊或海洋的陆地边缘或靠海的休养地。如：
We stayed at a hotel on the shore of the West Lake.

（4）seaside：（尤指作为度假地的）海边，海滨。如：
This summer we’re going to the seaside for our holidays.
今年夏天我们要到海滨度假。
另外，bank的意思是“岸”，多指江河之岸，特别是高出水平线以上的岸或堤岸。如：
This factory is on the south bank of Yellow River.
这家工厂在黄河南岸。
