170.四种“租用”。hire，employ，rent，appoint
（1）hire：租用；聘用；临时聘用。日常用语，常指按工作量计酬雇佣人手。如：
He hired a truck to help him in moving to his new home.
他租了辆卡车帮他搬家。
（2）employ：使用；雇用。则多指商店或公司长期雇佣人手。如：
The company employs fifty people.
公司雇用了五十人。
（3）rent：出租；租用；租借。一般指租借房屋、地产（租借出去）。如：(https://www.daowen.com)
The farmer rents a room in the town to work.
这个农民在城里租了一间房去打工。
（4）appoint：任命；委任。如：
They have appointed a new head teacher at my son's school.
我儿子读书的学校任命了一位新校长。
