◎The uprising of Luanzhou
In the second year during the reign of Emperor Xuantong of the Qing Dynasty (1910), the Qing army's 20th new army unit was established. The army's Guandai (equivalent to battalion commander) Wang Jinming, Shi Congyun and Feng Yuxiang were preparing to launch a New Army uprising. On October 9, 1911, the Wuchang Uprising broke out and the Hubei Military Government was established. Many provinces declared their independence from the Qing court. Wang Jinming, Shi Congyun and others in Luanzhou also accelerated preparations for the uprising. In preparation for the Luanzhou Uprising, Ding Kaizhang went to Tianjin to set up an army command headquarters and appointed himself as the army commander. And he gathered the leaders to establish army branches in Jingdong Area, Jingbei Area, Bianwai Area, and Guandong Area respectively. And then Ding Kaizhang sent more than 100 people to Luanzhou. Soon after, revolutionists Bai Yayu and Sun Jiansheng also came to Luanzhou and paid a visit to Zhu Youbao, the prefect of Luanzhou. With Zhu Youbao's sympathy and support, Bai Yayu and Sun Jiansheng took Luanzhou's government office as the government office of the Northern Revolutionary Military Government, and this was supported by Li Jinzhou and Pei Tingying, members of the Provincial Advisory Bureau. Only the senior officer of the 79th troop (equivalent to the head of the regiment), Yue Zhaolin, opposed the uprising. The Luanzhou Uprising failed, but Luanzhou was close to the capital city, the uprising greatly shook the morale of Qing army while boosted that of the uprising troops and people in the south, playing an important role in overthrowing the Qing Dynasty.(https://www.daowen.com)
