◎Cishan Cultural Relics

The site was first discovered in 1973. Cishan culture (c. 5400 BC-5100 BC) predates the Neolithic culture in the Yangshao Period. Agriculture was the main mode of production at that time, and the foundations found at the site are cellar holes, most of which are rectangular vertical cellars, with the deepest one up to seven meters. A large amount of carbonized millet ashes was found in the cellars. Besides, there were stone tools, bones of chickens, pigs and dogs which prove that animals had been domesticated at that time,as well as fishing and hunting tools. It is evident that Handan is one of the important birthplaces of Chinese civilization. On January 13,1988,Cishan Cultural Relics was listed as the third batch of major historical and cultural sites protected at the national level by the State Council.(https://www.daowen.com)
