◎The Walled City of Guangfu

The existing city wall is 12 meters high and 8 meters wide,with 4 gates,4 turrets and 1,572 crenels,all preserved as they were. The city covers an area of 1.5 square kilometers,with a population of about 20,000. There are four main streets,eight side streets,and 72 turning lanes. It is surrounded by a moat and beyond the moat is Yongnian Lake,one of the three major lakes in Hebei,covering an area of 30 square kilometers. The lake was formed by alluviation caused by redirection of the Fuyang River,and the city is located right in the middle of it.
