◎Watch the Sea in Spring
Li Shimin
Note: In 645, Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty personally marched to Gaoli and traveled eastward passing by Qinhuangdao. He stayed to watch the sea and wrote this poem to harmonize with his ministers.Seeing the scenery at this time, he expressed his great political ambition.
The main idea of this poem is as follows: Standing in front of the carriage, I'm looking at the vast sea with my robe opened, and watching the spring scenery. The confluent water is endless to the corner of the earth, and the flowing river is just like that it comes from the Galaxy. The misty fairy fog covers the three immortal mountains on the sea, and the warm spring breeze blows in all directions. The rosy clouds swirl and dye the sea and the sky, making them a huge brocade, and the sun leaps out of the wavy valley and emits brilliant light. When the sun shines on the shore, the flowers show colorful luster, and the wild geese appear and disappear as if they are not in line.I pacify the distance, using deep and wide military strategies, and pull the bows to defend the country.(The sea) has a form, but it is not easy to measure.Without the end, how can we measure it? The sea area can often turn into fields, and green uncultivated land can become village of raising.I thought of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty who had a rare gift and bold strategy and memorized Emperor Shihuang, the founder of the Qin Dynasty. It is not my original intention to come here to seek an immortal elixir, but to seek long-term stability and imperial glory of my country.
