◎III.Meng Jiangnv Temple
Meng Jiangnv Temple, also known as Zhennv Temple, is located at the top of the Phoenix Mountain on the north of Husband-gazing Rock Village,which is 6.5km from the east of the ancient Shanhaiguan City.Meng Jiangnv Temple was built before the Song Dynasty and rebuilt in 1594.It is a major historical and cultural site protected at the provincial level in Hebei Province.Meng Jiangnv Temple was the product of the folk culture derived from the culture of the Great Wall.There is a statue of Meng Jiangnv in the front hall of the temple, with a plaque above it written with “Leaving a Good Name to Posterity,” and the couplets on both sides, written “Emperor Shihuang has gone but people building the Great Wall still had resentment toward him;Jiangnv is still alive since the tablet was engraved for praising her,” which truly reflects people's love of Meng Jiangnv and hate toward Emperor Shihuang.
