An insignificant amount of cellulase was produced by EA3-867 either on glycerol medium or on the same medium supplemented with cellobiose（5×10-4 M）after being cultured for two days.However，a considerable amount of cellulase could be induced by cellulose（0.5%）or sophorose（5×10-4 M）added to the glycerol medium on the first day or after two days，respectively.［5］The level of cellulase synthesis induced by sophorose depended on the time at which sophorose was added to the medium，but the time of initiation of cellulase production was not related to the time of adding sophorose.In spite of the time of addition of sophorose to the medium，cellulase was always produced after two days in culture，as glycerol in the medium was depleted.This implies the involvement of catabolite repression in the regulation of cellulase synthesis.(https://www.daowen.com)
