Nicotiana Chloroplast Genome[1]Ⅱ.Chloroplast DNA Alteration
Summary
The analysis or restriction patterns or chloroplast DNA(ct-DNA)generated by several enzymes reveals that there is a high frequency of ct-DNA alteration in the male sterile but not in the fertile cytoplasma of N.tabacum.The altered restriction patterns and maps suggest that recombination of ct-DNA may have occurred. However, other alternatives such as deletions,insertions,and/or point mutations cannot be ruled out.(https://www.daowen.com)
