Extraction and Thin-Layer Chromatography of Carotenoids
Cells were harvested and extracted with acetone-methanoi as above under N2 and in dim light.After solvents were evaporated with a stream of N2，the pigments were redissolved in petroleum ether and spotted onto an analytical silica-gel plate for thin-layer chromatography.The solvent system for chromatography was petroleum ether-acetone（9∶1）.(https://www.daowen.com)
