On the third day after leaving home，Ciwu and Duosuo came to a dark mountain valley.There were a large group of monkeys.Some were cutting bamboo arrows，some were tying vines on a curved branch，some were sharpening stones，and some were covering branches and mud above the excavated earth...They were squealing and hollering.Ciwu and Duosuo did not know what they were doing，but with great courage they walked up to an old monkey and asked him，“What are you doing，monkey？”The old monkey took a look at them，then put down the polished stone in his hands，scratched his mouth and said，“We are doing something to hunt deer，shoot hawks，and catch bears.”

Being puzzled，Ciwu and Duosuo asked，“Why do you want to catch them？”

The old monkey patted his stomach with hands and answered，“Fill the stomach！”

Ciwu and Duosuo asked，“Do you want us to join you？”

The old monkey looked at his companions，some of them were scratching their cheeks and some their bellies，and they all answered with winking and showing their teeth，“Yes！Yes！Yes！”Ciwu and Duosuo then jumped with delight and joined them.

The monkeys taught them how to make stone knives，bows and crossbows，and how to cut bamboo arrows and dig pits.They also taught them to hit barbarians with stone，to shoot hawks with arrows，to catch bears with trap，and they also shared the foods with them.The two had never done any of these things，and had never eaten such delicious food.They were deeply grateful to the monkeys and made good friends with them.

Ciwu and Duosuo not only learned the skills of archery with a bow and catching bear and river deer，but also learned to skin the animals and open their bellies with stone.They used the skin and bird feathers they stripped off to keep warm.Although Ciwu and Duosuo were full and felt warm，they did not forget their parents，brothers and sisters for a moment.After a while，they said goodbye to the monkeys，carrying the meats and skins of the animals given by the monkeys on their backs，hanging bows and stone knives，and returned to Luofeng Mountain.
