The Amorous Village God of Dongshan
The Village God of Dashuimei Village，Shuilupu，Shiduohe Village，Qiping Village and Tanyao Village in Heqing Bazi is called the Lord of Dongshan.According to the legend，he was an amorous village god.
The Village Goddess of Xiaojiaochang Village was Bai Jie，who was a very beautiful and affectionate young woman.She often wore a white coat，sky blue trousers and a pair of flower shoes embroidered with the pattern of bees picking flowers.The Lord of Dongshan and Bai Jie met frequently and knew each other very well.Soon，they developed a romantic relationship.Then they often met in the middle of the night and slept together.They didn't part until the cock crowed.
One day，the Lord of Dongshan sneaked into Xiaojiaochang Village drunk after the people who served the incense went to sleep，ate up the pig heads and other sacrificial offerings，and drank all the wine.He entered into the main temple through the gap in the north wall.Why did the gap come into being？It turned out that the Lord of Dongshan often went to sleep at Bai Jie's place by climbing through the north wall and knocked it down.People repaired it several times but it collapsed over and over again.After the villagers fount out that it was damaged by the Lord of Dongshan，they never repaired the north wall again.At that night，when the Lord of Dongshan arrived at the main temple of Xiaojiaochang Village，Bai Jie was well-dressed up and eagerly waiting for him.They were deeply attached to each other and didn't wake up from their sweet dreams until the rooster crowed，which frightened the Lord of Dongshan.It was said that once the rooster crowed，he couldn't go back to Dongshan Temple.So he hurriedly put on his clothes and shoes.After he returned to his temple，he sat on the shrine and waited to receive the offerings of the people.
Early the next morning，people who went to the main temple of Dongshan to offer incense to the Lord of Dongshan found that he，the mighty and burly general，was wearing a boot on his left foot and a woman's embroidered shoe on his right foot.And people who went to offer incense to Bai Jie in Xiaojiaochang Village found that Bai Jie，the tidy-up woman，had a warrior's boot on her right foot and her embroidered shoe on her left foot.It turned out that the Lord of Dongshan was in a hurry and put on the wrong shoes.So Bai Jie，out of desperation，had to put on the boot he left behind.People couldn't help laughing when they saw the dignified and solemn faces of the two village gods and the shoes and boots on their feet.This amorous exploit spread quickly among the villagers.
Since then，the statue of the Lord of Dongshan in Dongshan Temple has worn an embroidered shoe on his right foot and a boot on his left foot.And the statue of Bai Jie has one foot with a boot and the other foot with an embroidered shoe.
