Dr Guoqiang Liu teaches in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Deakin University in Australia.He has been working in the area of applied linguistics and language education，and his interests include second language acquisition，sociolinguistic issues，identity in language change，local identity in dialect maintenance，and language policy and planning in national identity.
