8.1.1 Protection Level

China’s cultural heritage is classified according to its heritage value. The higher the level, the higher the historical, artistic and cultural value of the heritage, the stricter the protection measures applied. There is no national level of historic personalities’ residences in Jinan, but provincial level and municipal level of such residences.Provincial cultural heritage site protections mean that, after demonstration, their heritage value is not as high as that of the national level, but it is an important cultural heritage for Shandong province.Municipal level heritage is even less important than provincial heritage value. Therefore, the cases selected in this thesis possess provincial level cultural heritage value.(https://www.daowen.com)
