The epidemic situation management unit will comp...
2.1 Laboratory review
The microscopic examination of the laboratory blood smear of the case shall be completed within 3 days of the direct report of the case network (fill in Table 5-2). If necessary, microscopic examination and nucleic acid test are carried out.
2.2 Epidemiological investigation of malaria cases
2.2.1 Survey object and content
The epidemiological investigation of the case should be completed within 3 days after the case report. The contents of the investigation should include the basic situation of the case, the history of epidemiology, the history of treatment and the incidence, diagnosis and treatment of the case. Fill in the “Malaria Epidemiology Case Questionnaire” (Table 5-3) to determine the possible source of this infection.
2.2.2 Case classification
A. Imported cases: there shall be a travel history of overseas malaria endemic areas before the onset of the disease, or malaria cases with a clear epidemiology of overseas infection and no evidence of local transmission.(https://www.daowen.com)
B. Local cases: there is no evidence to prove that there are imported malaria cases or cases caused by direct transmission of imported cases.
C. Non-mosquito-borne cases: infection in this case can be traced back to blood transfusion or other forms. However, transmission through natural mosquito-borne infection is excluded.
D. Imported secondary cases: for cases of local infection, there is strong epidemiological evidence to directly link them to known imported cases (the first generation of local transmission).
E. Reburning cases: malaria cases are attributed to the recurrence of asexual Plasmodium after antimalarial treatment. This is due to the incomplete clearance of asexual Plasmodium.
F. Recurrent cases: due to the activation of delayed Plasmodium vivax or Plasmodium ovum sporozoites in the liver last time.
2.2.3 Case follow-up
Follow up the medication and outcome of the malaria cases after treatment, so as to, grasp the medication and recovery of the patients.
