Functional Grammar for English Teachers
Functional grammar differs from other types of grammar in its focus on meaning. This chapter presents functional grammar in a way that is accessible to and useable by teachers. Specifically, it describes key principles and concepts of functional grammar, major grammatical systems of English, and a functional metalanguage for text exploration that can be used during reading/writing instruction.
