1.2　A Changing Institutional Culture in China:The Rising of Sino-Foreign Cooperation Universities

Chinese education has been devoting itself to the global economy for a few decades.The complexity of adjustment in globalisation and internationalisation drags Chinese higher education into the political, social, economic, and cultural ranges of challenge and development.Taking these aspects into consideration, this section begins with the introduction of the new establishment of Sino-foreign cooperation higher education universities in China; then, research on ‘Chinese learners’ is critically reviewed to argue how these factors bring global and local changes to understanding of Chinese learners in international contexts.
