2.3.6　Trade Fairs贸易博览会

A Trade fair(trade shows,trade exhibitions or expos)is an exhibition for businesses to showcase their latest products or services.Attending a trade fair is often the most effective means to make contactsand learn about products,markets,competition,potential customers and distributors.Europe,particularly Germany,is a center of trade fairs for many industries.It organizes a majority of the 100 top trade fairs in the world each year.China Import and Export Fair,or Guangzhou fair,is the largest trade fair in China and a comprehensive event of international importance.It is held in spring and autumn each year since 1957 in Guangzhou(Canton),China,hence the name.Figure 2-2 is a picture of its exhibition complex.China also initiated the first China International Import Expo in 2018,which ever since has boosted China’s import a great deal and won acclaim in the international community.

Trade fairs are more and more in line with demands of the Internet age,such as providing online ordering of stands or online exhibitions.If you have an interest in a particular industry,keep an eye for important trade fairs in that industry.Even if you don’t attend a trade fair,it helps you accumulate business names and contact information in your interested industry.
