3.2.3 Counter-Offer还盘(还价)
Again,in the store-shopping example,you may not like the price or other terms of the deal and offer your desired terms—“your price is too high.How about 150 yuan?”That is a bargain in a domestic negotiation.Counter-offers in an international negotiation is similar,which is a reply to an offer with additions,limitations or other modifications.Both the exporter and importer can counter-offer the other’s offer or counter-offers and be further counter-offered by the other.So,counter-offers can go on and on for several rounds,but they can also be skipped altogether when the offer is accepted straight away.A counter-offer cancels the original offer and constitutes a new one.As a result,if you are counter-offered,your offer shall lapse and you will not be bound by that offer.The same is true for the importer.
