摘 要：强调是文体学研究的范畴之一。本文以英语文体学理论为指导，对英语语音手段及英语修辞手法所产生的强调功能进行了探讨，并简述了产生英语强调最佳效果的途径。

英语的强调方式多种，不一而足。本文重点探讨修辞强调（rhetorical emphasis）和语音强调（phonological emphasis）。
