4.3.4 Experimental procedures

1)Acquire and be familiar with the functions of the basic knobs on the oscilloscope and signal generator panel

(1)Connect the voltage output terminal of the signal generator to the CH1 terminal of the oscilloscope, observe a sine wave with a frequency of 1 kHz,and adjust the scanning knob to display one wave, two waves and five waves on the fluorescent screen.Write down the value of t/div at this time and enter it in Table 4.3.1.

(2)Observe the square waves as in(1).

(3)Observe the triangle waves in the same way as(1).

(4)Adjust the pulse width adjustment knob and frequency adjustment knob of the function signal generator to make positive or negative sawtooth waves appear on the screen.

2)Use an oscilloscope to measure waveform parameters

Let the signal generator generate 50 Hz sine wave, square wave and triangle wave respectively. And measure the peak-to-peak value VP-P,effective value E,period T,and frequency f of the AC signal.Fill these data in Table 4.3.2.(https://www.daowen.com)

3)Adjust Lissajous figure and measure signal frequency f

Input the sine wave signal voltage of 50 Hz into the CH1 channel of the oscilloscope and input the sine wave signal of the function signal generator into the CH2 channel.Adjust the relevant knobs to make the displayed waveform moderate, and adjust the Nx/Ny ratio of Lissajous figures to 1∶2,1∶1,3∶2,2∶1,5∶2,and 3∶1,respectively.Draw these graphics, and calculate the frequency and fill in Table 4.3.3.

4)Tips and attentions

(1)The brightness knob should be adjusted counterclockwise to a smaller place before turning on and turning off.Pay attention to proper brightness during use and avoid a long time showing a single spot.

(2)It is forbidden to connect the 220 V high voltage power supply to the input terminal directly.

(3)When operating the control switches and knobs,be careful and do not use excessive force to avoid damage to the components.
