在西方国家，如果得到某人的馈赠、关怀、照顾，都应该表示感谢；当你在亲友处或朋友处小住一段时间，离开后，应向对方表示感谢；对亲友、邻居的照顾或任何善意的行为，都应表示感谢；在生日或节日前后，收到礼物，不论礼品价值如何，应表示感谢。在对馈赠礼物的感谢信中，要提到具体的礼物，不要写Thanks for the beautiful gift，而应写成Thanks for the beautiful watch。同时将礼物是何等的适宜与精美等加以赞赏，以显示送礼的人独具慧眼。这样会使送礼人感到高兴。在英美国家，礼物上常附有一张写着送礼人姓名的卡片。

写作策略

开头段：明确写信的目的，说明为什么要感谢，清楚表述具体事实。

主体段：写清对方给你带来的好处。

结束段：再次表示感谢和问候。
