4.5.6 Suggestions
The clusters for suggestion seem to be a weak point in TETT,less various and more concentrative.Only a few clusters are used for suggestions such aswould be wise to,mountain you will see, time for the visit and you can see the.In contrast to TETT,OETT deserves the praise to offer more suggestions to audience as how to get there, you will find the, what you will see/find,if you are looking, make sure you have, you will have to and you willwant to.The above clusters highly raised readers'expectation. In addition, themanner of the texts is talkative. Therefore, the friend ly intim acy will be established between target readers and the author.
Exam ple 19:
(1)If you're visiting for the first time, you'll want to follow the tourist route...(OETT)
(2)This is when you can see the greatest number and variety of birds in Beidaihe.(TETT)
From the above exam ple,we can find most suggestion clusters are you involved. That is,suggestions are made with a reader-centred approach.Table 4.15 displays the observed frequency of suggestion clusters in OETT,which ismore than twice than in TETT(40&16,LL 10.65).So the difference in the frequencies between OETT and TETT is highly significant in the statistical terms p<0.001.Surely OETT ismore reader-friendly than TETT.
Although TETT has an absolute priority in cluster quantity(TETT 968,OETT 708),it is rather limited in variety, presenting high repetition and fossilization.Since cluster acts as an effective unit in the textual meaning, cluster analysis definitely bears some traces of text organization.(See Figure 4.3&4.4)(https://www.daowen.com)

Figure 4.4 Text Organization of OETT
As Figure 4.2 exhibits, the focal points of TETT are background, description and location;the focal points of OETT are evaluation and suggestion. The different kinds of clusters are notmutually exclusive but combined together to form a com plex text. The“background—description”pattern leads to the characteristics of expository texts whereas“evaluation—suggestion”pattern shows the characteristics of instructive texts.
