Situation 1:UN peacekeeping capability readiness system(UNPCRS)

Maj.Zhang:Do you really think that the UNPCRS will work?

Maj.Brown:Yes,of course!UNPCRS is very optimized and flexible now.

Maj.Zhang:How come?

Maj.Brown:PCRS has three levels.Higher level means faster reaction.

Maj.Zhang:You mean a higher level standby troop can be deployed faster?

Maj.Brown:Exactly.If one unit is agreed to enter the PCRS,it’s telling UN that it is ready for deployment within required time. For example, the level-3 standby troop should be deployed within 30 days upon order.

Maj.Zhang:Yes,I know.It is 60 days for level 2 and 90 days for level 1.Then how about the vanguard brigade?

Maj.Brown:It is something like a level-3 unit.However,a 4000-odd VB can do more than a single contingent.It is a sector-level QRF.

Maj.Zhang:It sounds nice.Any VB is in form now?

Maj.Brown:On December 4,2017,Bhutan became the first country to pledge rapid deployment troops to the UN peacekeeping operations.A Force Protection Company from Bhutan joint the Vanguard Brigade of the UNPCRS,and it’s able to deploy within 60 days of a request by the Secretary General.
