表达时间时，超过整点不到半点，如6点10分读成six ten或ten past six；半点如8点半读成eight thirty；超过半点，如2点40分一般读成twenty to three，two forty也可。9点15分可以读成nine fifteen，fifteen past nine或a quarter past nine。上午4点读作four o’clock a.m.，下午4点读作four o’clock p.m.或者sixteen o’clock。
