Baggage entitlement for End of Mission

With reference to the baggage entitlement for Contingent Troops,as described in“Guidelines for TCCs Deploying Military Units to UNMIL”(December 2003),in Chapter 67:

Deployment/Rotation/Repatriation/Baggage Entitlement.

Contingent equipment will only be moved on deployment to and on repatriation from the Mission Area.During rotations, only personnel will be moved, the equipment will be passed from the previous contingent to the new contingent in accordance with the MOU/LOA.Contingent personnel and Staff Officers moving by air are limited to a maximum of 45 kg of baggage. This weight limit includes cabin baggage, all other personal items and personal equipment.

When UN-DPKO-NY is requesting an aircraft for the rotation of contingent troops, its calculated 45 kg,not to be more voluminous than 0.3 m3.

Additionally an extra 300 kg for contingent equipment(files etc.).

Please note, this is not an entitlement.

Check-in baggage:Max 40kg,per person.

Dimension of baggage:Max total 0.30m3(100cm×60cm×50cm=0.30m3).

In practice two normal sized Bags/Suitcases/Boxes.

(Pack two small bags, instead of one very large).

Hand baggage:One piece, max 5kg(55cm×50cm×20cm).It is a WORLDWIDE aviation safety requirement that the carry-on luggage fits in to the overhead locker easily.

It is the Commanders’responsibility to ensure that his/her troops comply with their entitlement.
