UNMIL Force Commander Lt.Gen.Joseph Owonibi，
China's Ambassador to Liberia，Your Excellency Mr.Lin Songtian，
Ladies and gentlemen，
First，on behalf of all Chinese Peacekeeping officers and soldiers deployed in Liberia，I would like to extend my warm welcome to all the distinguished guests at presence，and my heartfelt thanks also go to UNMIL sections at all levels and peacekeeping troops from other countries who have given us utmost help and support.
Today right here，we are holding a grand medal awarding ceremony for three Chinese Peacekeeping Contingents，Chinese Transport Company，Chinese Engineer-2 Company and Chinese Level-2 Hospital，with 558 officers and soldiers in total.This ceremony proves to be UN’s acknowledgement of and high praise for our work since we came here and it will further encourage us to accomplish all the tasks in the following days.Upon arrival in Liberia in December 2004，under the leadership of UNMIL，three Chinese contingents after rotation have successfully and effectively fulfilled heavy transportation，engineering and medical tasks.
The peacekeeping missions here help us achieve a better understanding of Liberian people and further consolidate our faith to endeavor to carry forward the peace process in Liberia.Furthermore，UN peacekeeping operations have provided a good arena for promoting world peace and human being’s progress，increasing exchanges and developing friendship among various UN troops.Aiming high，strictly disciplined，and abiding by our working ethics，Chinese peacekeeping forces will seize this opportunity to bring to a greater success all the missions delegated from UNMIL.
In conclusion，I would like to express my sincere wish that we will，in coordination and cooperation with UNMIL and forces from other countries，make more contributions to maintaining peace and development in Liberia.
