（1）war：战争；斗争。作为名词时指大战、战争，比如“世界大战”用the World War。如：
We experienced two World Wars last century.
上个世纪我们经历了两次世界大战。
（2）campaign：战役，会战。是组成战争的比较重大的部分。这个词还可以指运动、活动。如：
the Huaihai Campaign 淮海战役
（3）battle：斗争，战役。指大的、连续数小时、数天的战争。如：
the battle of Waterloo 滑铁卢战役(https://www.daowen.com)
My brother died in battle during World WarⅡ.
我的兄弟在二战期间的战斗中死亡。
（4）struggle：斗争；冲突。指较长时间的激烈的争斗，常指肉体、精神上的战斗。如：
