（1）state：规定；声明；陈述。是一般的陈述、说明的意思。书面或演讲中正式表达。如：
He stated his childhood life in his composition.
他在作文里陈述了自己的童年生活。
（2）claim：宣称；声称。是声明、宣称的意思，尤指面对反对意见的声明。如：
He claimed that he had done the work without help.
他声称没有得到帮助完成了这项工作。
（3）declare：宣布，声明；断言，宣称。也是声明的意思但比较正式，尤指官方的声明，军方的宣战。如：(https://www.daowen.com)
The government declared to protect the environment.
政府声明要保护环境。
（4）announce：宣布；述说；预示；播报。是宣布、通知的意思，不一定正式。如：
The teacher announced we must wear uniform the next week.
老师宣布我们下周必须穿校服。
