（1）hold：持有；拥有；保存；容纳；包含。指某物能装下一定数量的人或物。如：
The car can hold four adults.
这个车子可以容纳四个成年人。
（2）contain：包含；容纳。指较大事物中所包括的可分离的部分，是具体的实体。如：
This book contains important information.
这本书中有重要的信息。

The price includes postal charges.
邮资已算入了价格中。
（4）accommodate：容纳；包含。和hold的用法差不多。如：
The school was not big enough to accommodate all the children.
