◎Dingzhou Mosque
Dingzhou Mosque,formerly known as the Temple of Worship,is located in Zhongshan Central Road,Dingzhou City.It is a courtyard-style building complex facing west.According to the inscription of Records on Rebuilding the Temple of Worship in 1348,the main hall was built when Pu Gong was in charge of Zhongshan Prefecture in 1343.In 1731,Ma Chongwen,the then vice imam,advocated rebuilding and expanding the mosque.The existing part of the mosque covers an area of 5,255 square meters,consisting of the flora-pendant gates,the north and south lecture halls,the main hall and the rear Mihrab hall.The rear Mihrab hall of the mosque is one of the earliest known examples of brick beamless halls in mosques of China.There are three stone tablets in the mosque,which are Records on Rebuilding the Temple of Worship,Records on Rebuilding the Mosque and Inscription on Rebuilding Dingzhou Mosque,respectively of the Yuan,Ming and Qing dynasties,all of which are of important research value.In 2013,Dingzhou Mosque was listed in the seventh batch of key cultural relics under national protection.
