◎Zhao Culture

The connotation of Zhao Culture,represented by shooting on horse in Hu dress,is openness,progressiveness and inclusiveness,inheriting the spirit of reform and innovation of the State of Zhao during the Warring States Period. It is one of the sources of Chinese civilization,the result of intersection,integration and sublimation of Chinese culture and the nomadic culture,a reflection of the conflicts and integration among the various ethnic groups in the northern region. It well represents the regional culture of Handan. It originated in the Spring and Autumn Period,flourished in the Warring States Period and continued to the Han Dynasty. It cultivated developed handicraft industries such as iron smelting,copper smelting and pottery making,a prosperous commerce and trade,a generation of leading academics such as Xunzi,Gongsun Long and Shenzi,as well as a number of heroes such as King Wuling of Zhao,Lian Po,Lin Xiangru and Zhao She. It also depicted a general picture of the ancient northern Chinese culture together with Yan Culture.
